Offered here for sale, is probably one of the most original custom bodied Amilcar's in the world. The Fabulous boattail coach work is completely unaltered from the day it was built. The car was never painted and retains its original polished aluminum coach work. Many of these Amilcar body's were modified or changed throuout the course of there lives, but this car remains original. This car has been in Monaco for many years and was once part of a prominent Italian collection. I have been told by a previous owner that this car was indeed raced, when new, but no verification has been made at this time.
The interior was recovered in very supple red leather and is still in very good condition. This unique body features offset front seating, and a unique rear seat. The perortions on this car are perfect, when you study the lines of the body, and the V - Front windshield gives the car a unique skiff look.
The motor is original and correct, and was rebuilt many years ago. The starter needs to be repaired, and is with the car. I usually start the car on the crank.
These Amilcar's have become extremely collectable over the years, and this car is no exception. It will be a wonderful car for any collection with its unique Boattail race car style. It has the look of a Bugatti at a fraction of the price.
