The 1909 Brooke Swan was built by J.W.Brooke & Company Limited who were marine engine builders in Lowestoft, Suffolk.
This extraordinary vehicle was commissioned by an Englishman resident in Calcutta. The chassis and body were made in India and shipped back to Lowestoft for the 6 cylinder Brooke engine to be fitted. The body formed a Swan's neck at the front and the beak opened and shut with a hissing sound and could also emit a stream of water. The car survives and there is a smaller version for children.
After it's restoration it was shipped to "Pebble Beach" where it won the "Best of British" award.
