The Chevrolet brand is one of the oldest names in American motor car production being established in 1911, its early success was so great its founder William C. Durant took over General Motors in 1916. Harley Earl sketched out the immortal Corvette in January 1953 and when the Chevrolet V8 engine was introduced into the car in 1956 a long and illustrious competition career had started. Chevrolet has always gone head to head with the Ford Motor Company and nowhere is this more illustrated than in the highly competitive world of U.S Nascar racing.
