FERRARI MONDIAL QV Making its debut at the 1980 Geneva Show, the Ferrari Mondial 8 was to succeed the 308 GT4, taking its name from the legendary sports racer of the 1950s. Under the skin, the Mondial was, in fact, close in specification to the fuel injected 308S, although the chassis differed slightly by using a sub-frame at the rear, which carried the engine and transmission, thus making for easier servicing and maintenance. During 1982, the Mondial underwent a revision of specification, which included the introduction of the ?Quattrovalvole? or QV, which used a 4-valve per cylinder head with an increased compression ratio, considerably boosting the power output.
