Flanders

1912-1913 Flanders Manufacturing Company, Pontiac, Michigan.
1913-1914 Tiffany Electric Company, Flint, Michigan.
1914-1915 Flanders Electric Company, Pontiac, Michigan.

Designed by LeRoy Pelletier, advertising manager for E.M.F., and sponsored by Walter Flanders, this was an attractive-looking electric car which was about 12 inches lower than most of its rivals and featured a worm drive rear axle. Two body styles were made; the closed Colonial coupe and open Victoria coupe, both priced at $1775. Fewer than 100 were made before the Flanders Manufacturing Company was in difficulties. In 1913 Pelletier bought the company and renamed it Tiffany and set up a separate factory at Flint. The Tiffany name was used from October 1913 to March 1914, after which Pelletier moved back to Pontiac and resumed the Flanders name. Production of the Tiffany and second generation Flanders Electric probably amounted to fewer than the first.
