Gamage
Gamage 1903-1904 and 1914-1915.
A.W.Gamage Limited, Holborn, London, England.
The famous department store had several involvements with car sales, as well as offering a wide variety of accessories. Their first cars were single and 2 cylinder light cars with De Dion Bouton or Aster engines, almost certainly built by Lacoste et Battmann in Paris. They had 3 speed gearboxes and shaft drive. Gammages were also selling De Dion Boutons and Renaults at this time.
The next Gamage car appeared in 1914, and was a light car powered by a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder Chapuis-Dornier engine which could be started from the driver's seat by a cable linkage. It is not known who made this car for Gamages as they certainly had no factory of their own. In 1920 they were selling the German S.B.(Slaby Beringer) single seater electric cyclecar.
