1908 - 1921 Markrandstadter Automobil-Fabrik, Markranstadt.
Hugo Ruppe was a Gereman and the son of Arthur Ruppe, the maker of Piccolo cars. When he set up on his own at Markranstadt near Leipzig, he followed his father's example by using air-cooling. He made several models with 4 cylinder engines, including the 1192cc 4/12PS, 1375cc 5/14PS, 1620cc 6/16PS and the 1800cc 7/21PS. They all had 3 or 4 speed gearboxes and shaft drive, and most were sold with 2 seater bodies.
After the first World War the 1620cc model was revived under the designation 618PS, later 6/24PS, and there werte plans to make a 3400cc 14/38PS with a single overhead camshaft engine, but this never went into production. In 1921 the business failed and the factory was sold to Apollo.
