Marr

Walter L. Marr built a light car powered by a 6 1/2 hp single cylinder engine mounted under the seat and driving by a single chain. He traded as the Marr Auto Car Company of Detroit, Michigan. He did not have his own factory and so he contracted with the Fauber Manufacturing Company of Elgin, Illinois to build 100 cars for him while he looked for suitable premises. These 100 cars were probably never completed as the Fauber factory was burnt down in August 1904 with the loss of 14 Marr Runabouts. walter Marr returned to working for David Dunbar Buick. He continued to serve as a consulting engineer, and in 1914 designed and built a tandem-seated 4 cylinder cyclecar, but Buick decided against producing it.
