1901 Milwaukee
Milwaukee 1900 - 1902
Milwaukee Automobile Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. USA
When the Milwaukee company launched its steam ars it made no great claims for originality. They said "It is not a radical departure from all other types, and will not revolutionise the whole automobile industry". It was indeed like many others of it's kind, with a 5hp vertical 2-cylinder engine, single chain drive and tiller steering. Three body styles were listed, a 2 seater stanhope, a 4 seater surrey which could be steered from the rear seat, and a delivery van. The same models were listed in 1901, at slightly higher prices, but for 1902 there was a more substantial-looking 4 seater rear-entrance tonneau with wheel steering and a small frontal bonnet. Milwaukee was bankrupt by June 1902.
