Steamobile Co. of America, Keene, New Hampshire. 1900 - 1902
This company was a successor to the Trinity Cycle Manufacturing Co. which had made the Keene Steamobile car, and the design was carried on with little change. It was a typical light steamer powered by a 7/8hp vertical engine with single chain drive. The 2 seater had a curved dash like that of the Oldsmobile, though it was higher built. By September 1901 25 had been sold, and two new models followed for 1902, a four seater dos-a-dos and a delivery wagon called the "Transit", in which the driver sat behind the load. These evidently did not sell well, for in June 1902 it was reported that the company had a considerable number of vehicles in stock and would probably build no more. Later, 40 unsold cars were disposed of to the Standard Roller Bearing Co. of Philadelphia.
