An advanced solar-powered vehicle built by Solar Energy Racers, which is run by employees from the Swiss-based Bühler Group, took ninth place and the best newcomer award in the Veolia World Solar Challenge trans-Australia race from Darwin to Adelaide in October.
Axeon, Europe’s largest independent supplier of lithium-ion battery systems, produced the cell-pack modules specifically for the SER-1 solar race car, enabling the vehicle to reach a top speed of 100km/h over the 3,000km distance.
